Gathering in Canada at the YWAM Dunham base in the province of Quebec, about 180 YWAMers and families were joined by 120 locals for the opening night of the YWAM 50th anniversary celebration. Loren and Darlene were welcomed by a video about the nations and by runners entering the hall with flags from many of the nations represented in this gathering. Before Loren shared, we took an offering dedicated to mission bursaries for young Québécois people wanting to do a DTS.

During our celebration, we regularly turned our hearts toward God in praise and thankfulness for who He is, for all He has done and for what He continues to do. We also took time to thank Him for all those who helped the mission in various ways.
For Loren and Darlene, a key session is when they get to hear reports from the different operating locations: we were all blessed to watch and hear from 13 of them!
We had the privilege to hear first-hand some of the REAL news of what is happening in the world, instead of just the constant BAD news communicated by media. We heard from Loren about the reality that Jesus is winning in the world!! « Don't limit God! Be encouraged and don't be afraid! God is on the move and He is not in slow motion! » were Loren's words of encouragement. There is an exciting acceleration of the spreading of the Word with all kinds of new technologies. Things are moving fast and we also need to be alert and get involved if we don't want to miss our opportunity to be part of it!

One highlight was to have John Wason (Pictured above - from YWAM Word to Life in Victoria, British Columbia) give a moving narrative presentation of the whole book of Philippians he had memorized: the Word became so alive that we could have spent hours meditating on it!
Darlene exhorted us not to quit. She gave a great 9-point message on how not to grow weary. Preparing us for the time of commitment and communion, she presented who Jesus is in a fresh way.
At the farewell moment we presented Loren and Darlene with a quilt combining the vision of waves and the vision of flames in a beautiful artistic way. We said goodbye, but with the expectation to see them back in August of 2011 for a 3-week DNA leadership training. Meanwhile, the King's kids had a tremendous program for ages 3-7 and 8-16! The kids had an amazing time learning more about God's heart for the world and even had the opportunity to go to the village on Friday and share cards of encouragement with various business owners; they sure were touched by this kind gesture!

We continued to feast and celebrate for 2 more days: YWAM Olympic games, ladies beauty session, tea time for couples, life size Dutch Blitz tournament, King’s Kids activities, visits of Québec city and Montreal. We concluded our time together with a memorable international love feast, with exquisite dishes from Mexico, Cameroon, India, Morocco, Japan, Thailand, Europe and Québec!
It was so great to come together as family!
